The Villages are ALL Missing Their Idiots

Never mind Tennessee's new anti-smoking law that supposed to A) raise
revenue and B) make people quit (talk about opposing goals). Never mind
Metro's school dress code that's amazingly similar to the one they already
had but didn't bother to enforce. Never mind that the State is threatening
folks who bring in too many cigarettes from Kentucky face a possible felony
charge, a charge that could just as easily be leveled against folks going to
KY to avoid sales tax on groceries.

One of the ladies who works in my building was telling me today she'd been
denied for Care Kids, the program that offers insurance to folks who don't
have insurance and can't afford to buy it. Turns out, that making $26,000
per year, with three kids eligible for the program, she makes TOO LITTLE to
qualify for the program. Now, luckily she discussed this with an employee
who actually had a heart and the numbers were fudged up the two hundred
bucks she missed the qualifying point for, so the kids are covered.

When she informs her boss that she makes too little to qualify for a state
insurance program, his reaction is... "Huh."

Nothing else. Just "Huh?"

I doubt that anyone reading this heard this story on the radio
yesterday, unless you have an HD radio or listen on line you would have
missed it.

Couldn't listen. Don't have Real Audio and don't really want it, but the
phrase "disaster capitalism" and corporations filling a void left by
"gubmint" said enough for these old ears.

And this is different from single payer healthcare in what way?
