The Nashville Symphony is now way up on my sh*t list

Today's rant is about the exemption of charities, politicians, and
companies one has allegedly "done business with" from the Do Not Call
Law. My focus will be on the Nashville Symphony.

I don't know how they got my cell phone number, but I suspect I had to
submit it for a ticket transaction. (My norm is to put down a bogus
telephone numbers - usually of an escort service gleaned via
switchboard.com, when I have to submit a telephone number.) I seem to
recall there was a reason to give them my actual cell phone number for
a ticket purchase for the one show I have attended at the new symphony
hall and it seems that's when the calls began.

Each time they have called I do what I do with any of these exempt
orgs: I tell them to remove me from their list. If I recall the
rules correctly, they are supposed to remove me, even if they are
calling from an exempt org. Apparently the folks at the Nashville
Symphony think they are exempt from that rule as well and up til now I
have not taken them to task for it.

The Red Cross is the worst I've run across in a while with regard to
sharing/selling their mailing lists. It's kind of a shame that one
can't make a donation to help out for a Katrina, 9/11, or SE Asian
tsunami sort of situation without seeing most of the donation sent
back to you in the form of junk mail for just about every charity or
501c-3 in the world. I forgot to jump through whatever hoops are
involved last time I made a donation. I won't forget again. I'll
also look for another agency to make a donation through.
(Unfortunately my employer matches donations to the Red Cross (and
some others though.)

It wouldn't be nearly as bad if they'd make their mailing list an
opt-in choice rather than making in nearly impossible to opt out of.

I still don't understand why the Bloodmobile does not use shorelines
for its HVAC and lighting and they insist on polluting the general
environment with their onboard engine/generator.

But like Pinky Valentine says, "You can't prove that a Bloodmobile is
causing global warming in the Arctic Ozone Zone and killing the bats in
New York!"

I don't read BB's posts 99.99%% of the time, and my general policy is
not to elevate his many childish, insensitive, and just plain moronic
remarks above the contempt in which I hold them by responding. I also
don't like to criticize people directly and instead to focus on their
specific actions or words. But I'm going to make an exception here.

BB, you really do need to get some counseling or medication or just to
get out more or something. Seriously. You have to be really unhappy
or insecure or just plain f*cked up to write some of the sh*t you do.

Eh, eh. If BB jerks your chain this much you obviously don't read
99.9999%% of the post on nash.gen. I mean have you even seen any of
M*ff*t's posts? Or Georgie Boy's? Or JCr*w*'s???

I can't imagine. There is no one I know of on nash.gen with a
better sense of humor and just general human understanding than the
lovely Ms. D.

In the same vein, your posts can be extremely childish, insensitive,
and just plain moronic.

I think she has you mixed up with someone else.

Those are generally high marks given the average tenor of some posters
to this forum. They even work well for an Alto.

I did go back and look, thanks to Google. It seems I fell into the
same trap as did the poor shulb who was working in the boiler room for
Nash Symph.
