sealed for "freshness" - wtf?

Bought some new racquetballs a few days ago. On the cylindrical
canister was one of those foil-lined seals one has to peel off to get
to the goodies inside. Printed on it: SEALED FOR FRESHNESS.

Sealed for freshness? Racquetballs?

Maybe they got worn out acting as a temporary rear suspension bushing
on an Alex Moulton AM18?

If they aren't stored in a hyperbolic ball minder the atmospheric
differences dissipate and the balls loose their zip.

"(Hyperbolic ball minder)?" Comstock said. "Pfft. More like the
craptastic crapobolic crapulator of crappity-crap-crap. Blarf. In
addition, it is ugly as ugly can get, raises several safety issues,
and is so freaking stupid I had to puke at how stupid it is."
