Under very special circumstances, Jean. And it wasn't and
hasn't been the only times that a steel structure has
collapsed because of fire. A few years back, after 9-11, a
steel framed freeway bridge collapsed when a fuel truck
wrecked and caught fire. The fire, much less intense that
the WTC fires, softened the steel enough to cause structural
damage to the point where the whole bridge collapsed. Lower
altitude, no constant high velocity winds, and far less
weight pressing downward.. I'll take the word of scientists
and engineers over the hysterical politically motivated
unscientific "facts" provided by Rosie O'Donnell.

Conspiracy theories pop up when some paranoid people cannot
accept the simplest of logical explanations. The feeling
that random catastrophes can happen to anyone at any time
makes them feel helpless and they construct elaborate plots
and plan so they can blame the catastrophes on whatever
