recommendation for club with live music

A friend of mine is coming through town this Tuesday and requested
that I take him to a club that plays live music -- where "musicians
jam" (in his words). His preference is for folk / acoustic, but
country or acoustic rock would certainly do.

Any recommendations?

Don't know about quality but here's a link to a number

My second cousin goes to Tootsie's a lot but she's, I
think, looking for guys....not so much for music. Nashville
should have more than its share of good musicians.

All of the usual suspects already mentioned, i.e. the Bluebird, the Station
Inn, a whole ton of places.
