Subject: Operation "we Care" for Hurricane Gustav Evacuees in Nashville
Importance: High
Dear Friends & Family:
Three years ago New Orleans and the entire gulf coast was devastated by
Hurricane Katrina. As we watched the unbelievable events that unfolded
before our eyes, we knew that there must be some way to help those in such
great need. Through a massive email and word of mouth effort, we were able
to collect supplies-food, water, diapers, clothing, toys, and many other
items---enough to fill a semi trailer. We delivered the trailer filled with
supplies to the shelter at Louisiana State University.
As Bonnie and I watched with anticipation yesterday the events unfolding, we
knew that another call to action was needed. This time, we want to help the
2000+ evacuees who are being sheltered here in Nashville & Middle Tennessee.
Bonnie has been in touch with the Red Cross to find out what is needed and
how to get the supplies to them. Here is what is needed:
Diapers
Wipes
New Towels
Unopened Snacks
