Actually, it's that complex and more. Add all the factors mentioned in
the thread. Factor in a few more, like bringing energy in the ticket
that's been lacking; the youth factor; the family values angle (lots of
kids by one father); the military issue (eldest son in the Army)...looks
(oh yeah, the cheesecake factor--former beauty queen) like a pretty
ingenious move.

There are minuses, of course. I can see it blunting one of the
campaigns most-used weapons; the experience factor. McSame can't use
Obama's perceived lack of such against him, after selecting a half-term
governor--however popular--as running mate.

That said, when the administration can vociferously condemn another
state for 'invading a sovereign country in the 21st century....' I guess
any sort of hypocrisy is possible.
