"Convicted penny stock e-mail hustler Eddie Davidson kills wife and
young daughter before taking his own life just four days after escaping
from a federal minimum security prison."
Hopefully, this will spur even more convictions and stricter sentencing.

Uh, jak, he had been convicted and sentenced. He escaped.
His conviction and sentencing didn't prevent a damn thing.
Maybe he should have been double secret convicted and
sentenced ... yeah, that's the ticket.

It certainly needs to convince law enforcement that spam is a real crime,
worth prosecuting, not just the virtual version of crank phone calls &
toilet-papering trees.

I don't see anything in any of the stories to suggest any history of
*violent* crime.
He certainly bilked people out of millions of $$ in direct theft and
probably many times that in the time & services he stole to advertise his
scams. And deserved a sentence far longer than 21 months.
But I suppose when we have violent criminals being released for lack of
space, we can't really be putting non-violent (or at least so we believed
at the time of sentencing) criminals in expensive maximum-security
facilities.

I think the percentage of snail mail I receive that is junk is much
higher than that. Will postage ever get expensive enough that grocery
stores will stop mailing weekly flyers?

If he was in prison, how did he "force" his wife to help him escape?
