Nah. Fix your chili the way you want it fixed. The thing about Mexican food
that's actually from Mexico is that it's about as varied as anything here
and they use what's available. Mexican food along the border, be it Texas,
New Mexico, Arizona or California are all flavored by local customs and
whatever cultures have mixed into the populations

Some purists don't like beans in chili at all... me I don't much care one
way or the other, so long as they're not limas, navys or black beans, and I
prefer flavor over just hot any day.
