| Kent, the lines in her speech that got the loudest applause had
| NOTHING, absolutely NOTHING, in terms of detail on what she would do
| for the country. That's what I dislike about the Republicans' habit of
| draping themselves in a veil of patriotism because it gives no kind of

Did you watch and listen to Biden's speech? He said absolutely NOTHING in
terms of details on what he would do for the country. Vice Presidential
candidates do not talk about what they will do for the country, that's
speech is for the Presidential candidates.

| Hillary has earned degrees that she hasn't, so one could say
| legitimately that she's proven her intelligence. See, you hate Hillary
| and nothing she could do would change your mind because she doesn't
| fit your mold.
|
| Secondly, it's undeniable that Democratic presidents, including
| Clinton and Carter, have succeeded at bringing world leaders to the
| peace table
All of them went back to fighting within 6 months.
as much or more than they've cost of billions upon
| billions and thousands of deaths waging wars under false pretenses.
|
| You guys want us to forget the fact that every reason we were told we
| had a legimate right to go into Iraq has been proven wrong. But some
| of us aren't so stupid.
Here is some education for you.
"Without question, we need to disarm Saddam Hussein. He is a brutal,
murderous dictator, leading an oppressive regime ... He presents a
particularly grievous threat because he is so consistently prone to
miscalculation ... And now he is miscalculating America's response to
his continued deceit and his consistent grasp for weapons of mass
destruction ... So the threat of Saddam Hussein with weapons of mass
destruction is real..."
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Jan. 23. 2003
"I will be voting to give the President of the United States the
authority to use force -- if necessary -- to disarm Saddam Hussein
because I believe that a deadly arsenal of weapons of mass destruction
in his hands is a real and grave threat to our security."
- Sen. John F. Kerry (D, MA), Oct. 9, 2002
"One way or the other, we are determined to deny Iraq the capacity to
develop weapons of mass destruction and the missiles to deliver them.
That is our bottom line."
- President Clinton, Feb. 4, 1998
"If Saddam rejects peace and we have to use force, our purpose is
clear. We want to seriously diminish the threat posed by Iraq's
weapons of mass destruction program."
- President Bill Clinton, Feb. 17, 1998
"We must stop Saddam from ever again jeopardizing the stability and
security of his neighbors with weapons of mass destruction."
- Madeline Albright, Feb 1, 1998
"He will use those weapons of mass destruction again, as he has ten
times since 1983."
- Sandy Berger, Clinton National Security Adviser, Feb, 18, 1998
"[W]e urge you, after consulting with Congress, and consistent with
the U.S. Constitution and laws, to take necessary actions (including,
if appropriate, air and missile strikes on suspect Iraqi sites) to
respond effectively to the threat posed by Iraq's refusal to end its
weapons of mass destruction programs."
Letter to President Clinton.
- (D) Senators Carl Levin, Tom Daschle, John Kerry, others, Oct. 9,
1998
"Saddam Hussein has been engaged in the development of weapons of mass
destruction technology which is a threat to countries in the region
and he has made a mockery of the weapons inspection process."
- Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D, CA), Dec. 16, 1998
"Hussein has ... chosen to spend his money on building weapons of mass
destruction and palaces for his cronies."
- Madeline Albright, Clinton Secretary of State, Nov. 10, 1999
"We begin with the common belief that Saddam Hussein is a tyrant and a
threat to the peace and stability of the region. He has ignored the
mandate of the United Nations and is building weapons of mass
destruction and th! e means of delivering them."
- Sen. Carl Levin (D, MI), Sept. 19, 2002
"We know that he has stored secret supplies of biological and chemical
weapons throughout his country."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002
"Iraq's search for weapons of mass destruction has proven impossible
to deter and we should assume that it will continue for as long as
Saddam is in power."
- Al Gore, Sept. 23, 2002
"We have known for many years that Saddam Hussein is seeking and
developing weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Ted Kennedy (D, MA), Sept. 27, 2002
"The last UN weapons inspectors left Iraq in October of 1998. We are
confident that Saddam Hussein retains some stockpiles of chemical and
biological weapons, and that he has since embarked on a crash course
to build up his chemical and biological warfare capabilities.
Intelligence reports indicate that he is seeking nuclear weapons..."
- Sen. Robert Byrd (D, WV), Oct. 3, 2002
"There is unmistakable evidence that Saddam Hussein is working
aggressively to develop nuclear weapons and will likely have nuclear
weapons within the next five years ... We also should remember we have
always underestimated the progress Saddam has made in development of
weapons of mass destruction."
- Sen. Jay Rockefeller (D, WV), Oct 10, 2002
"In the four years since the inspectors left, intelligence reports
show that Saddam Hussein has worked to rebuild his chemical and
biological weapons stock, his missile delivery capability, and his
nuclear program. He has also given aid, comfort, and sanctuary to
terrorists, including al Qaeda members ... It is clear, however, that
if left unchecked, Saddam Hussein will continue to increase his
capacity to wage biological and chemical warfare, and will keep trying
to develop nuclear weapons."
- Sen. Hillary Clinton (D, NY), Oct 10, 2002
"We are in possession of what I think to be compelling evidence that
Saddam Hussein has, and has had for a number of years, a developing
capacity for the production and storage of weapons of mass
destruction."
- Sen. Bob Graham (D, FL), Dec. 8, 2002

|
| While you're Googling the definition of socialism, tell me how Georgie
| Porgie's Medicare prescription drug bill isn't socialism? The Medicare
| prescription drug bill combined with the creation of the Department of
| Homeland Security marked the two biggest expansions of government
| since World War II. Yeah, boy howdy, he's really a conservative all
| right.
|
| As far as the site, which is an IBD guest column by somebody who
| obviously doesn't like Obama, fact of the matter is both Bush and
| Clinton have called for increased participation in social
| "corps-oriented" programs. It's this clowns opionion that it wants to
| radicalize youth. The fact that this kind of crap is the best you can
| do to refute the assertion that you're not freaked out by an
| articulate African American is shocking.

|
| Bullshit, bullshit, bullshit. I have nothing to do with bullshit
| organizations like the National Organization for Fat Acceptance. I'm
| not suing anybody because I can't get off the Big Macs and can't read
| a calorie poster. I'm not the one requiring a seat-belt extender in
| the coach seat of an airplane. See, I take individual responsibility
| and appropriate actions. You Republicans are supposed to be for that.
"It is both foolish and wicked to teach the average man who is not well off
that some wrong or injustice has been done him, and that he should hope for
redress elsewhere than in his own industry, honesty, and intelligence." --
Theodore Roosevelt, "Review of Reviews", January 1897
|
| As far as the handful, that's just bullshit. If a majority of the
| American public is obese by some level -- and they are -- and they're
| in the same health insurance pool as I, then I'm being forced to
| subsidize their lazy behavior.
And they subsidize your medical problems.

|
| If religion and religious groups didn't have such power, why was the
| first publicly televised meeting between McCain and Obama held at
| Saddleback? There are a large chunk of voters that will let their
| votes be guided by one or two issues that have nothing to do with the
| best overall health of the country and their stance on those issues is
| influenced by their church. Hence, they believe everything their
| religious leaders tells them to.
|
| Keep 'em coming, just keep 'em coming.
Just like Obama right?

| >matashakkeram.
|
| You've never had a humble opinion in your whole life whether it be
| FIDO, Usenet or any other forum, so let's just cut that crap. All
| that's needed to be at my level is a willingness to have a factual
| based discussion without cites to opinion columns on IBD or a rant by
| someone who opposes my ideology.
|
| To me, a sad, sad statement was made at the RNC last week when you
| actually had some ass clowns chanting "drill, drill, drill..." I mean,
| for the love of God, is the best we can do? The country that gave the
| world semiconductors, microprocessors, put a man on the moon, etc. has
| completely lost its drive to innovate. It seems like the Republicans
| Party is full of a bunch of people who couldn't pass a math or science
| class to save their ass -- that is, the ones who actually *believe* in
| science.
Does this mean you disagree with T. Boone Pickens?
" I might add that in small towns, we don't quite know what to make of a
candidate who lavishes praise on working people when they are listening, and
then talks about how bitterly they cling to their religion and guns when
those people aren't listening.
We tend to prefer candidates who don't talk about us one way in Scranton and
another way in San Francisco.
