IRVINGTON - Although the question rarely elicits a compelling
response, parents just can't seem to help themselves when it comes to
asking the beloved dinnertime standby: "What did you learn in school
today, honey?"
But sometimes - just sometimes - persistence is rewarded with a gem of
an answer.
That was the case last week for Catherine Johnson and Ed Berenson,
whose 13-year-old son could barely hold back what he had learned at
the Irvington Middle School Wellness Fair.
"At the dinner table, he announces, 'Today at school I learned that
oral sex is safer than anal sex,' " said Johnson, 53, a writer who has
two other children in the school district. "This is a kid who hasn't
even been on a date yet, or had a first kiss, as far as I know."

Borgie's fear is strong women
-- they persecute him, upset his workplace and
steal his opportunity.
