Probably your only option, although if you're handy with a screwdriver,
and possibly soldering iron, it's remotely possible to find an identical
unit which is defective in some other way and swap parts. Very likely,
Garmin replaces these things all the time.
I've replaced screens on cell phones in the manner described above; but
there are a lot more cell phones of any given brand/model in use than
particular Garmin GPSs. Some other piece of kit may use the same
screen, but I know of no way to find that out.
Right now I'm dealing with the same situation on my digital camera. I'm
glad that I insisted on getting one which also had an optical viewfinder.
Google "Garmin model [whatever] replacement screen" and see what pops up.
