Kent, as usual you have no idea of that which you speak.

This is America, and I can criticize exactly who I want; which would
include the Catholic church. This is the very same Catholic church in
which I was raised, until my own parents became disenchanted with it
when I was around eight. I believe that would be same one whose
Sisters-with-mens-names hit me more times in the one year I went to
their school, than I experienced in in rest of my educational
experience...and who terrified me with tales of how my protestant
friends would be going to Hell--or at best Purgatory--because
Catholicism was the only 'true religion.

I still have the picture from my First Communion, the rehearsal for
which Sister William Ann sucker-punched me (well, slapped, really...but
I didn't see it coming), in line on the way to church, for talking.

(FWIW, I looked pretty cute in my bow tie)

It's also the one which--when my brother obtained a divorce based
largely on his wife's infidelity with his best friend--petitioned him
for an 'annulment', so that she could stay in the Church along with
their five children (presumably eventually going to heaven, while he
presumably went somewhere 'else').

It's the same Church to which one of my great uncles devoted his life in
Service, as well as my great-great aunt, and a cousin (three generations
of clergy in my great grandmother's family).

No, master kent. This is nothing 'new' or trendy for me. It's
personal, lifelong and consistent. I don't even have to mention the
thousands of years during which the Church was both the scourge--and one
of the few light
--of civilization. The last fifty of my own experience
are sufficient to explain my low opinion of that fetid, corrupt institution.

In your own words, blow it out your....
