Seems odd that no charges have been filed against the security guard
who killed a man in cold blood, and the guard wasn't even being attacked.

Security Guard Fatally Shoots Man In Parking Lot
...According to Metro police, Holmes said he felt threatened by Villegas.
But police believe the car was moving away from Holmes....
...There is also a second question to the shooting: Should Holmes have even
been on duty Friday morning?
Holmes is a licensed security guard for SecurityWise, which has an expired
business license.
No one from the company was available for comment Friday. The company was
closed Friday.

Last year, SecurityWise filed for bankruptcy. According to court documents,
the company owes more than $1 million to the Internal Revenue Service.

According to the report, SecurityWise also owes thousands to banks and
businesses including more than $700 to local liquor stores....

Too depressing? here ya go:

The state of TN issues two types of permits for an individual to carry a
handgun, a handgun carry permit, and an armed guard permit.

The handgun carry permit is issued to private citizens, for purposes of
self-defense. It's my understanding that the handgun carry permit is not
valid for use where carrying a handgun is required as part of a job (the
permit for that has a different set of requirements).

The armed guard permit is only valid during the hours when the guard is
'on the clock' for a business that employs them as an armed guard.
While driving to and from work, the armed guard permit is not valid (unless
the employer pays them for that time). For that reason, some armed
guards have both permits - the armed guard permit for when they are
on the clock, and the handgun carry permit for when they are off the
clock.
