If you had lobbied and voted for politicians who promised to tax gas
at the pump at 100 to 200%% of the wholesale price of the product, and
they had been elected, and enacted those policies, I guaran-damn-tee
you that the U.S. automakers would have been offering A and B class
cars in the the U.S.

And they would have sold because the average American consumer would
have been FORCED to buy those small, fuel efficient cars, not by the
market, not by the "evil" oil companies, not because of the supply &
demand marketplace for oil, but because of the social engineering of
the government.

Why not just say what you want? You want the government to force the
citizens to do what the goverrnment (or you) *think* is best for them,
instead of letting them make those decisions themselves.
