Well, maybe we can hope for $250, the gas will go to $10 a gallon, the economy
will be completely gutted, and then maybe the American people will kick the
envirowackos in the teeth and do what needs to be done - drill.

Why? The people who own the elected office holders benefit from
expensive oil. The federal government has done everything it can to
bring about expensive oil and oil products.
1) regulation that is designed to keep new players out of the game.
2) unused leases on federal land held by insiders (aka big oil)
3) War.
4) War on credit (aka inflation)
5) threating war (with Iran)
6) interference leading to conflict (Georgia)
I can go on. But none of these actions bring about 'cheap' oil.

Realize that the gas taxes 'need' to be raised to 'fix the roads'
because so much of it was diverted to other purposes. Everything
from forest preserve paths to police checkpoints and more.

You got no business in the futures market, if you don't know how it works.
It's not like the stock market.
You could've made a killing, selling short.
You're either a bonehead, or a liar.

An idiotic short-term band-aid.

More of a set of stitches in a deep wound.
There's more oil there, just more difficult to get at.....until the
price goes up and make it profitable.

The death of the economy began with the passing of the federal reserve
act in 1913. The question is, is this the final act?
"If the American people ever allow private banks to control the issue of
their currency, first by inflation and then by deflation, the banks and
corporations that will grow up around them will deprive the people of
all property until their children wake up homeless on the continent
their fathers conquered." Thomas Jefferson 1816

I'll take that as you not having any evidence of government action that
has resulted in 'cheap' oil.
