I'm getting caught up on rec.bicycles.tech after being out of town for a
couple of weeks. Lots of great stuff there.

I've _almost_ decided to go with a Sturmey-Archer internal 3-speed.
They're practically indestructible, and would be better suited to my
very hilly part of town. I'm still drawn to the simplicity and lightness
of a single speed, but this may not be the time.

The next big decision: coaster or center-pull brakes. There's something
appealing about keeping cables to a minimum, but is it worth the loss of
control....
