Assuming current prices at the pump, and using the claimed
cost per gallon of the converted oil, the unit would pay for
itself in 30 batches (40 gallons in a batch).

My question about biodiesel is not whether it is a viable
alternative to gasoline, but rather how efficient would it be
to produce and how would it fare in terms of consumption vs.
use as food. Right now, all the food oil production in the
world is a drop in the bucket compared to petroleum ...

I was gonna chime in with a guesstimate of about that. Less than a year in
many cases, but you also raised the issue of storage, which for most
residential lots would be a problem.
