And those who understand how the world works will likely cheer. Those who
don't will dismiss it as simply the ramblings of an old man.
Subject: Lee Iaccoa
Lee Iacocca, the man who rescued Chrysler Corporation, has a new book, and
here are some excerpts.
_____________________________________________________________
Lee Iacocca Says:
"Am I the only guy in this country who's fed up with what's happening? Where
the hell is our outrage? We should be screaming bloody murder.
We've got a gang of clueless bozos steering our ship of state right over a
cliff, we've got corporate gangsters stealing us blind, and we can't even
clean up after a hurricane much less build a hybrid car. But instead of
getting mad, everyone sits around and nods their heads when the politicians
say, "Stay the course"
Stay the course? You've got to be kidding. This is America , not the damned
"Titanic". I'll give you a sound bite: "Throw all the bums out!"
You might think I'm getting senile, that I've gone off my rocker, and maybe
I have. But someone has to speak up. I hardly recognize this country
anymore.

And there are those who, while agreeing with many of Iaccoa's points,
will find at least some of them to be ironic coming from the leader
of Chrysler who accepted a government bailout of his firm in the 79-80
timeframe. There are many reasons that U.S. firms fail to compete
and one of the most harmful is the merchantilist system of government/
business collusion that was evident back then in the Chrysler bailout.

At a time when financing was not to be had anywhere else. And it should be
noted, every penny was repaid and early. It saved the jobs and livelihoods
of several thousand direct Chrysler employees, and an untold number
downstream... the lion's share of them American taxpayers.

If it's not too much trouble, would you please explain your feelings

That's what really pisses me off~!
There are fast food TV commercials mocking the declining dollar~!
There are crap faces, like nitwit, crapping all over themselves for
anything except sanity~!
There's gub minutiae.
There's anything *except* a discussion of the extent of bushit's
harms, even in the political debates from the prospective~!
"OUTRAGE" ISN'T a sufficiently powerful word~!

And frankly, that's what worries me. This morning on my drive to work, I
found myself behind a car also, I guess, on his way to work.
There were two stickers, one on either side of the rear window. On the left
was one that read, "Proud Marine Mom." On the other side was a slightly
tattered "W-04" sticker.
The thought struck me harshly. Why would one cling to a failed
administration... one that has clearly and absolutely shown its disdain for
American military personnel, one that has allowed the sacred...

I bought a new Chevy Silverado crew cab and returned to the dealer the next
day because I couldn't get the radio to work. The salesman
explained that the radio was voice activated. "Nelson," the salesman said to
the radio. The radio replied,"Ricky or Willie?" "Willie!" he continued and
"On The Road Again" came from the speakers. Then he said, "Ray Charles!",
and in an instant " Georgia On My Mind" replaced Willie Nelson.
I drove away happy, and for the next few days, every time I'd say,
"Beethoven," I'd get beautiful classical music, and if I said, "Beatles,"
I'd get one of their awesome songs. Yesterday, a couple ran a red light and
nearly creamed my new truck, but I swerved in time to avoid them. I yelled,
"Idiots!" Immediately the French National Anthem began to play, sung by Jane...
