Who has a militia? There are reasonable uses for rifles and shot guns.
Hand guns have only one use. If the National Guard has replaced the
militia, then are you suggesting that a guard member should be able to
park his tank at the curb every night? Times change and so do
circumstances. Women and people of color weren't given the vote in the
Constitution. Times have changed. Carrying a weapon only gives you a
false sense of security which, like snow tires, only gets you into
deeper problems;o)
Anybody, weapons or not, can get bush whacked.
Lastly, playing, whites, blacks, and browns off against each other
is the "Man's" game. If you ain't a politicain, you are working against
your own self interest. It wasn't the "brothers" who sent the good
factory jobs overseas. It wasn't the "campesinos" that exported
U.S. taxpayer subsidized U.S. corn and other grains into Mexico,
thus putting themselves out of work. The problem is old, greedy,
phosphorescent-white guys who own the politicians.
