Americans choose to become the world's dumbest in science and math - Covering up the bad news

Date: Aug 11, 2007 08:20

There are sinister political motives behind the Conservative Establishment's
conscious drive to dumb down the American public, especially on scientific
matters--an ignorant citizen is far more likely to swallow right-wing
Corporatist or Fundamentalist bullshit than a scientifically-literate one.
It's not just embarrassment that has caused the U.S. to dropout of the skill
comparison study below, as the article that follows mentions--the drive to
drive out science is a time-tested way to keep the Conservative
Establishment in power.

The Great American Flunk-Out:

Dropouts

The United States has quietly withdrawn from an international study
comparing math and science students.

Don't forget the unflagging blind support of the so-called
libertarians, as they drive the country resolutely towards the Middle
Ages.

Interesting. However you don't touch upon the likely immediate cause
of this cowardice. When Bush conned Kennedy into supporting NCLB, they
converted the educational system into a teach-to-the-test apparatus,
designed to weaken unions, support privatization, and create an army
of clerks, imbeciles, and republicans. It goes without saying, they
wouldn't have a chance in international competitions.

Considering that libertarians can't get elected and that there are no
libertarians in government, how does a dumbfuck like yourself gather up
the brain power to keep breathing every day?

isn't breathing an autonomous brain function?

Blind is an apt word to use when describing the so-called (indeed!)
libertarians, big L ones included. They don't seem to know what libertarian
means when it comes to NSA wiretaps, for example.

It still requires a couple of working neurons in order to have an
autonomous brain function.

Ah, another stunning display of mental midgetry from the resident
apologist fuckchop. Nice to see, absurd, but nice to see nevertheless.

Libertarians can't get elected, true (and thank God), but the repubs
have to but throw some bones their way (Democrats will take your guns
away, for example) and the libertarian whackjob gun nut freakos, the
anti-regulation comic-book ideology crowd, and the other assorted
misanthropes who make up the libertarian vote reliably republican.

And that, fuckchop Mark, Anderson nospambrandylion.com>, is how
and why they are America-haters.
