Jun 5-8, 2008. Bristol, UK.

"Following the success of the one-off visit to Bristol in 2006 of the
American Left Coast Crime convention, the organisers are putting on a
new biennial international event called CrimeFest. CrimeFest will follow
the format of US conventions, featuring interviews, panels, a Gala
Dinner, and possibly one or two surprises. Our 2008 Featured Guest
Authors are Karin Fossum and Ian Rankin. Find out more about the award
winning Inspector Sejer series. And what's next after Rebus? Find out at
CrimeFest, and check the website to see which authors are attending."

Why not square brackets?

Just more cool, or is it some techie reason?

Googja strips the [label] from a subject line but not the /label/.
Anyone replying through Googja news 1)can't see the /label/ on the post
and 2) Googja de facto posts replies with the label-stripped subject
line, which is how it will show up from there on out because folks'll
reply to the stripped subject line &c. and so forever on.

Gottit. I noticed some subjects had the [label] missing so I know
there are apps that strip it. Never could figure out why. I can see
reducing the "Re:" and "Fw" and "Fwd" nonsense down to just one (some
apps seem to just like piling 'em on, and some apps put [numbers]
next to them, etc.), but removing something in square brackets?

I tend to poke around with the many-headed beast known as Google. In the
process, I've on occasion found some very interesting undocumented ways
that Google search works. (Seems the folks behind the scenes would like
some powerful search tools but don't want to have five billion people
pounding on the system.)

I tend to get my info in odd ways some times so I'll keep poking around
to see what I can see.

True story. Birth of the younger niblet. The older niblet is AB- as am
I. The younger niblet's blood type had just been typed as AB+. "Well,
you're not O-type," I said to his nibs while the dottore was in the
room, "but I =still= can't know for sure what your blood type is."

"There are easier ways to type your husband's blood," the dottore said.

I was reading this, waiting until the actual crime happened. Then I
saw it.

It's like a trade show for criminals, right?

Does it *really* matter one way or the other?

Well, yes, it does. Had ya used messy slashes instead of the
aesthetically pleasin' angle brackets, I would have been forced to
give you a demerit.
