The Seven Most Common First Novel Problems And How To Avoid Them - Sherry Gottlieb

Author: Towse
Date: May 9, 2008 20:33

Heather's question about agents had me dredging stuff up with Googja.

The results included a thread back in 1997 where Bill Quick, Sherry
Gottlieb, &c. talked about agents or the lack thereof. (Hey, Dan! There
you are in that thread too.)

<http://google.com/group/misc.writing/browse_frm/thread/0be38d9a4c6ceda4/3ca9597d...>

Toward the end of the thread, drift had taken it to HMOs and, well, you
know.

I tripped over to Sherry's site and found this, "The Seven Most Common
First Novel Problems And How To Avoid Them":

Happy Mother's Day: Woman pregnant with 18th child

By JILL ZEMAN, Associated Press Writer
Friday, May 9, 2008

(05-09) 14:25 PDT Little Rock, Ark. (AP) --

It's a happy Mother's Day for an Arkansas woman — she's pregnant with
her 18th child. Michelle Duggar, 41, is due on New Year's Day, and the
latest addition will join seven sisters and 10 brothers. There are two
sets of twins.

"We've had three in January, three in December. Those two months are a
busy time for us," she said, laughing.

The Duggars' oldest child, Josh, is 20, and the youngest, Jennifer, is
nine months old.

  Sample Book Proposals

Author: Bill Penrose

This issue came up before. Here on MW? Probably. Anyway, I blundered
across an agent's site with a useful set of sample proposals for
fiction and nonfiction.

(spool down to the bottom for the list of links to the proposals)

The top link here was on Sal's site.

I'm serious. What is that? Write me at royerpfsatyahoodotcom and 'splain.

I got my results back from my physical exam, and all my bloodwork numbers
were in excellent shape (for example, Total cholesterol number: 180
(anything below 200 is good) with bad and good both in proper levels.

That's my prediction. After that happens I will give you my prediction on
what will happen in Harlem.

But she will manage to pull it off, and lots of people will be pissed
because they backed the wrong candidate.
