  More about Red [Cat Oriented]

Author: Cleverly done
Date: Jan 14, 2008 05:04

Last night, Mrs Cleverly decided to sleep in the guest bathroom with the
smallest sick tomcat, Cookie. He weighs about four pounds, and he's got a
bad, bad cold with sniffly nose, coughing and wheezing. The reason for
bathroom and not one of the guest bedrooms is to enable her to keep him
better confined to a smaller area.

I'm giving the little turd antibiotics twice a day, and this morning he
appears to be much, much better. He's eating and taking water on his own.
I brought her a cuppa about 0350 hrs and brought him a small bowl of juicy
stuff with a pill ground up in it. That saves me from having to stuff one
down his throat.

So, while she was bunked with him, my new cat Red slept with me in the
spacious king-size bed. And with all that x-tra room, he insisted on
sleeping on my pillow. The other household cats are getting accustomed to
him, but they stayed away. Coupla times he got up and traipsed into the
other part of the house to check things out, and when I got up to check on
him I saw multi heads turned his way as they watched him stealth around in
snoop mode.

Celtic Jewelry: Ancient Symbolism In Popular Fashion

Author: 88059355
Date: Jan 14, 2008 04:54

The mysterious and the mystical have always had the power to hold
human beings in thrall throughout the millennia. Celtic jewelry is no
exception to this, since they are an extension and a reminder of the
traditions and rituals of the Celts, an ancient European people.
Today, men and women of all ages wear Celtic jewelry not only for
their beauty, but also for their symbolism and metaphysical
connotations.

Also popularly -- though inaccurately -- known as Claddagh jewelry,
Celtic designs are appreciated for their intricacy and beauty.
Numerous patterns of Celtic origin, such as the spiral and the cross,
are used by jewelers in their creations. The Celtic spiral symbolizes
eternity and is used abundantly in many Celtic jewelry items today.
Just as popular is the Celtic cross, which pre-dates the Christian
cross by about two centuries. The Celtic cross is thought to bring
greater knowledge, understanding and the fortitude to deal with trials
and adversities, as compared to the Christian cross, which is believed
to protect the wearer from harm.

Could it be that the real reason behind all the US poo-poo-ganda about
Iran is to finally gain control of Strait of Hormuz all be it under a

correct my language? The format needn't correcting. Thank you so much.

1.4 A Brief Survey of Images of China in British Literature

........(some parts are omitted here)
In the 19th century and early 20th century, China was mainly
considered as a country of backwardness and stagnation and the images
of China created by British writers were generally unfavorable. Sax
Rohmer wrote his Fu Manchu series, in which the Chinese people were
devils. His evil Chinese characters enhanced the conception of “yellow
peril” in Europe. However, Bertrand Russell, hoping to find the
essence from the long-history China, visited China in 1920 and sang
praise of Chinese civilization greatly in his famous book The Problem
of China. W. S. Maugham described China from many aspects and the
images of China are multi-faceted and they will be discussed in detail
in the following part of this thesis.
