This isn't a commercial vehicle. The only thing this has to do with
trucking is, I'm a trucker, and it's my daughter, which was involved in a
fender bender.

Have some fun, shoot holes in my (daughter's) defense, give me some advice,
or whatever. It will be a break away from politics, and everything else
that's thrown in this group.

I'm going to be going down to juvenile court, as soon as they send the date
to appear.

I plan on showing, that's she a bit different than the average 17 yr old.
I'm taking a copy of her report card, she's carrying a 3.6 GPA. She just
turned 17, she got her temps @ 15-1/2. She volunteers at a local
veterinary clinic, which she has over 200 hrs in, putting in time when she
gets out of school @ 1:00. She was 1 of 12 chosen in the tri-county area,
to participate in an emergency veterinarian clinic, where she learned how
to stitch up animals.

The kid had taken CPR classes through the Red Cross, so she could start
babysitting when she was 10. At the age of 16, she had saved over $11k from
babysitting and dog sitting. She put down $8k on this car, makes payments
to us so we can make the payments for her, pays her own insurance.

Hi truckers,

Look at me. I'm 4. How old are you. I can tie my shoes. Can you
tie your shoes. I'm in pre-school.

What's that? Can I have some. I want candy.

I'm gonna be a trucker when I grow up....if I grow up. I'm not having
much luck there. Besides it's more fun to troll and act like a baby.

Time for my nap. Bye bye, truckers

The shit just never ceases... A refinery that we haul a certain hazmat
product for recently mandated some new requirements for our trucks. The
product involved is a low volatility flammable compound. Nothing of extreme
risk, but hazmat. This refinery dictated that all dedicated tankers hauling
this product will be fitted with locks on the landing gear and on the
internal valve pump. In most cases this involves replacement of landing gear
and pump to be lockable to their specification. Cost is around 2k per
trailer.

Okay, if load pilferage is the concern I *might* be able to stretch my
imagination far enough to somehow justify this. Fact is though, we hook a
trailer, load it and usually depart immediately with it, live unload and
deadhead back to terminal. It is a rare instance that a loaded trailer is
ever unhooked from a tractor or not attended by the driver, or under
supervision at our terminal.
