Employers that hire drivers for commercial vehicles are required to check
the most recent three years of a potential employee's background
thoroughly, and keep in the employment files of each driver, a complete
history of the driving jobs they have held in the previous ten years.

When this requirement was instituted in the mid eighties, DAC Services,
Inc., now known as USIS, evolved as a business willing to compile
employment records on all drivers in a similar manner to the way credit
reporting agencies collect information on all of us.

Over the years, they have become the standard and the most used service
that the trucking industry uses to collect background information on
drivers who are employed in the trucking industry.

When a driver is considered for hired, a USIS/DAC report is pulled on that
person, and if the driver has worked for a company that does business with
USIS, a reference of his employment with that company will be on that
report. These reports are typically offered within 30 days after a driver
terminates employment with a trucking company.

Drivers, my name is Gary and I am working on gettig DAC pulled. It's a
civil rights thing and we have put up with it too long. It's aginst

trucker's have always took it on the chin and moved on but now it
stops. Labor laws are over looked in trucking. first DAC goes then get
paid for any time on line 4 (on duty not driving) but your still
working and must and will get paid. ok this is how much we get f-ed
out of each year. now line 1 will and should only be used (1) your
home (2) at a motel (3) away from truck and doing your thing no load
empty. (4) in the hospital or dead. line 2 sleeping per DOT
RULES ..line 3 driving per orders to get a load drop a load or move a
load from point A to point B. you get paid miles (labor laws state
every mile you drive (everyday put starting milage on log book and
ending milage on book) employer won't pay real miles don't quit just
file a claim with labor board in state you (now this is tricky) the
state you were in when employer told you,that you got the job. If you
were on phone say in ST.LOUIS,MO at a bar (just joking) and employer
called you or you called them and said "YOU GOT THE JOB" come on and
get your truck thats where all again thats where all the laws for you ...
