Many people know that I am a declared Republican. But with each passing
day, I find myself becoming totally incensed with Republicans and their
ways of addressing the ills that this country is currently suffering
from.

For the most part the economy is down somewhat, but not dire. There's no
indication that people are living in the streets due to any sense of
collapse, contrary to what can be seen in print that gives one to think
otherwise.

Are a certain amount of people hurting? Yes, but then that's nothing new
or totally unexpected. There are always some people that bite off more
than they can chew. The latest mortgage "crisis" has many facets to it,
and there are plenty of places in which to point fingers, but the bottom
line is that it was a severe mistake to allow mortgages to be bundled
and sold as investments.
