Samsung is talking about "water-powered" cellphones, but that might not be
such a good idea if the price of water goes up as fast as the price of
diesel.
BTW diesel yesterday at the "World's Largest Truckstop" was $4.129
"Samsung aiming for water-powered cellphones by 2010"
We've seen quite a few prototype fuel-cell powered mobile devices, but
Samsung's upping the ante by predicting that we'll all be running our phones
on water by 2010. The company says it's developed a method to generate
hydrogen by exposing water to metal, but the details are a little shaky --
we're guessing it's similar to the system used in the HydroPak generator,
but it's hard to tell. Still, we've got no reason to doubt Samsung's
engineers, who say the system currently provides about 10 hours of use, or
about five days of average cell usage, and will eventually allow users to
simply top off and go. That's every traveler's dream

I have a friend who drives for Crete. I heard that Crete and Shaffer
are being taken over by Swift because they can get Mexican drivers for
16 cents a mile instead of 46 cents a mile they pay the American
drivers.
Anyone else head this one?

I was listening to the overnight trucking radio program on 700am WLW, just
trying to stay in touch with the bitter people that cling to God and guns.
The next magical idea truck drivers are saying will fix high fuel prices is
regulating oil "speculators." This is a bad idea for several reasons.
First, most of the increase in fuel prices this year are not due to real
increases in crude oil prices. Much of the increase in prices is due to a
decline in the dollar in which the world price of oil is stated. If you
take the trading price of crude oil and measure it in Euros the price is
stable.
