Why Do Insurance Companies Pay For Damages Caused By Drunk Drivers?

Author: Speeders & Drunk Drivers are MURDERERS

It's my understanding that insurance companies do not pay for damages
caused by criminal acts. Most jursidictions now classify DUI as either a
felony or misdemeanor in which case it is definitely a crime.

Yesterday Hillary Clinton said she was betting on the filly, Eight Belles,
to win, place and show.

Big Brown won the Kentucky Derby by 4 3/4 lengths, a race marred with
tragedy after the only filly in the race, Eight Belles, lost her life.

Amid all the media hysteria over the price of gasoline and the profits of
"Big Oil," one simple fact has been repeatedly overlooked: The oil
companies' earnings are just under 10 percent of the price of a gallon of
gas, while taxes take 17 percent. Yet who ever accuses the government of
"greed"?

Washington State DOT recently completed a survey on truck parking in
Washington. The I-5, I-90 & I-82 corridors really are in bad shape when
you need to park. Click on the link to read the comments and survey results

Should Drivers Who Cause Highway Crashes Be Billed For the Expense?

Author: Speeders & Drunk Drivers are MURDERERS

The cops and paramedics have to come out and rescue the injured and the
highway may be shut down for hours. All this costs money to the taxpayers
and i say the speeder or DUI or whatever that caused it should be billed
big time - like maybe $50,000.

When mountainclimbers have to be rescued, they are sent a bill for the
rescue effort.

Driver Sentenced in Nevada's Worst Drunk Driving Case

Updated: May 2, 2008 06:57 PM

Ronald Jayne, Jr. learned Friday that he will be spending a minimum of 15
years to a maximum of 45 years behind bars for a drunk driving accident
that killed five members of a family. Restitution is more than $200,000.

Jayne Jr. spoke, addressing the family and was crying the whole time asking
for forgiveness. He was 19 years old at the time of the deadly car crash at
Tenaya and Farm Road in May of 2007.

The five victims killed were family members. Katherine Luna was just 7
months old. Itzelic Sevilla was 2 years old. Fernando Dominguez, 9, was
killed along with his mother. Gustavo Dominguez Sevilla who was 13 years
old also died and 32-year-old Claudia Dominguez, the driver, lost her life.

Sandy Heverly, the executive director of STOP DUI, says he has remained in
close contact with the Dominguez family and she asked the judge to give
Jayne the maximum. In a letter to Judge David Wall, she wrote:

===> WHY "CONSERVING" IS A ***STUPID*** IDEA <===

Author: theloneranger100

Yup........I hear all this talk about "Conserving" as though it is
some sort of a "Cure-All"........But in Reality, "Conserving" just
brings you LESS of the of the Item you're trying to "Conserve" for a
Helluva Lot MORE Money...........That's because the price of
everything is tied Directly To a Desired Income for
Somebody..........For Example, the Water Department has a budget that
they need to fund.........If you use Less Water, they get Less
Money..........So they Raise the Price and you get LESS Water for MORE
Money..........Thus, "Conserving" is just you Screwing
Yourself...........Donchaknow............

  Gas Tax Holiday

Author: tscottme
Date: May 3, 2008 00:28

If the feds implement the gas tax holiday for the Summer, it's going to feel
like a kick in the groin at the end of Summer when it comes back with a
vengence, overnight.

I'm just glad I bought all of those toilet paper oil filters and fuel line
magnets over the years. I have to siphon fuel out of my car's tank each
week I'm saving so much gas.
