Author: rdbuit

allrighty then!!
yesterday i had the truck in for the par dyno @cat...fortunatley i
had
a list of common reacurring problems with me( also a tech who
actually
listens to the trucker)
before he even put it on the dyno, he tore the waste gate apart,, and
lo and behold, it had been hanging up in different locations,,!!so
they replaced the waste gate, and the main turbo, and suggested i run
it with a few loads before i wasted 750$ on the par dyno. tho they do
beleive there may still be other issues,,, when i brought the truck
home, it ran better than i it ever has,, however i still seem to have
a wee bit of valve, or injecter clatter, but i will know which it is
once i get a load on and jake down a hill...its possable it may just
need a valve set after beeing pressured up so much from the waste
gate
not functioning properely, or ( hehe) because i have never heard the
truck run so queit, that it is the way it is supposed to sound..oh
yes!! also apparantly cat has an update for highpower c13,s that
they ...

  Non-stop idling - why ?

Author: CCBlack

I remember the first company I started driving for back in the early
90's ... there was a sign at our home terminal at the fuel pumps.

It stated :

NO IDLING WHEN OUTSIDE TEMPERATURE IS BETWEEN 50F and 70F.

They put that sign there because ... if your truck was not in the
shop ... and you were waiting for a load, you could stay in your truck
and idle if necessary.

I remember that company directive used to piss me off. That was
until ... well ... it made sense to me after a while.

AND keep in mind my company was super conscious about unnecessary
idling ... and that was back when fuel was around $1 a gallon.

And I actually like sleeping in a truck that isn't idling ... and when
everyone else around me isn't either. There is much less noise and
vibration.

PLUS ... well fuel is at about $ 4.25 a gallon now ? That's like $35
bucks up the stack for no reason over and 8 hour period.

  Aloha! Maholo!

Well after 57 years I have finally set foot in Hawaii!
The flight in was totally boring all the way. Once I arrived in Honolulu I half
expected to be greeted by half naked native girls handing out lei's. Well
apparently that practice isn't happening these days. At least not at night
anyway.

It cost me another $35 for a taxi ride to the hotel. Being near midnight for me
I did manage to stay up a little longer to help get acclimated to the time
difference. You do have to cross 3 time zones. So far I haven't done much but
tomorrow I'll go see a few things.

Maybe the next time I come out here they'll have that damn bridge built.

Y'all know what Aloha means right?
Maholo means "thank you".

Author: Screen Ranger
Date: May 12, 2008 01:55

Yup.......It's Interesting to Note The Different Approaches to High
Fuel Prices by Both Parties..........

DEMOCRATS: "Tax The Oil Companies!" - "Take Speculators To Court!" -
"Talk Tough To The Arabs!"

REPUBLICANS: "Drill for our OWN Goddamn Oil!" - "Build More
Refineries!"

The Democrats are proposing NOTHING that will Lower Fuel
Prices.........The Republicans ARE proposing Steps that WOULD Lower
Fuel Prices.............Donchaknow..........
