Help with a Potential Project: Upgrade trailer to Off-Road Specs?

Greetings, all.

An acquaintance who owes me money came by the other night to offer a
few items in lieu of cash. One of these items is a Haulmark Cub 5'x8'
Trailer that's only about a year old.

I was originally going to dismiss this item in lieu of some of the
alternate long-arms offered, but the wife seemed to take an interest
in it as a possible hauler for our hunting camp accoutrements.

However, we specifically have chosen an area that is difficult to get
to for our fall hunting camps. I can promise that the trailer, in
it's current form, would not make it.

The roads, once the hardball is left, simply won't allow 99%% of cars
past, let alone this trailer.

The trailer would have to be upgraded to allow it to pass.

FYI, the specs I have on it are found in this file from Haulmark
(NOTE: Must have Adobe Reader to view file):

http://www.usa-trailer.com/pdf/7221.pdf

The model CB5x8DS2 appears to have all the same specs as the trailer
offered to me.

The question I pose is such:

Your spouse took an interest? Is there a slight glimmer of a possibility
that the person of the female gender who resides in your spacious abode
might possibly eschew traditional female attire in favour of pantaloons?

But be that as it may, you have ready need of a suitable possible hauler
for your hunting camp acoutrements? Ah, a bona fide pickle, indubitably,
for such accoutremets have a distinct propensity to generally tend towards
behemothic volume!

Your generous offer of a promise is well noted, old chap.

Such posure is gratifying to those who appreciate pondering such.

Well, it's obvious you can invent words as easily as you can invent an
email address.

It still shows ignorance of the English language.

Actually, the spouse prefers to wear pants rather than pantaloons.

She looks quite attractive in "traditional female attire," however.

None of this matters, however, because I was not discussing clothes.

Probably best not to bother. Around here, if you have any welding skills
and some tools or access, it isn't that hard to custom build your own
trailer.

Firstly, there is the load carrying capacity to consider,
Then the clearance question; height, suspension, shocks,
Then the strength; are you going to wrench the trailer apart the first
time you hit really rough country?

OTOH, do you really need an ff-road trailer? Might this trailer suffice
to carry the extra you need (do you really need it) to the start of the
offroad and you just do a double 4Wd/SUV trip over the rough section.
