  Terrorized by 'War on Terror'

The "war on terror" has created a culture of fear in America. The Bush
administration's elevation of these three words into a national mantra
since the horrific events of 9/11 has had a pernicious impact on
American democracy, on America's psyche and on U.S. standing in the
world. Using this phrase has actually undermined our ability to
effectively confront the real challenges we face from fanatics who may
use terrorism against us.

The damage these three words have done -- a classic self-inflicted
wound -- is infinitely greater than any wild dreams entertained by the
fanatical perpetrators of the 9/11 attacks when they were plotting
against us in distant Afghan caves. The phrase itself is meaningless.
It defines neither a geographic context nor our presumed enemies.
Terrorism is not an enemy but a technique of warfare -- political
intimidation through the killing of unarmed non-combatants.

But the little secret here may be that the vagueness of the phrase was
deliberately (or instinctively) calculated by its sponsors. Constant
reference to a "war on terror" did accomplish one major objective...

If we had had the sense to adopt the policy of "doing
nothing" in the Middle East starting in about 1960, the cost
of doing nothing would be -- nothing. NOW is an excellent
time to start doing nothing. Not as good as 1960, but much
better than 2020.

Race differences in immune genes
Researchers have found the behaviour of immune system genes varies from race
to race - potentially affecting how they respond to infection.
The Chicago University team looked at over 9,000 genes in 180 people, half
Caucasian and half from Nigeria.

They found differences between the two races in 5%% of key genes.

The American Journal of Human Genetics study may help explain why some
groups are more vulnerable to disease, and aid development of more tailored
treatment.

Gum disease

The researchers used gene chip array technology, which uses a microscope to
analyse a specialised slide capable of containing thousands of genes derived
from blood cells.

Sixty nuclear families, each including a mother, a father and a child were
studied. Thirty were from Utah in the US, while the rest were Yorubans from
Ibadan, Nigeria.

  LOUDMOUTH YANKS AGAIN

JEESUS HE Christ, Harry Wales HRH has done hios absolute best to get
deployed on combat missions with his troops, but objections have twice
prevented him from doing his job as a troop commander, mainly that if the
Taliban knew he was there they would concentrate of hitting his unit and
possioble causing unneccessary deaths among the other soldiers serving with
him. So the bulk of the world media agreed not to disclose to the world
that he was fighting on the front line in Helmand Province Afghanistan until
AFTER his tour was over. But them of course we were stupid to think the
yanks could keep their mouths shut and the US company the DRUDGE REPORT
noted for its tacky innacurate and often misleading stories exposed Harrys
tour of duty.

All we can hope for now it that the Americans will at least have the basic
common deceny to find out who exposed Harry and his colleagues and charge
them with aiding and abetting the Taliban, Dont hold your breath expecting
the US to do the right thing.
