Shortage fears push oil futures near $140

Fears of a shortage within five years propelled long-term oil futures
prices to almost $140 a barrel on Tuesday, further stoking
inflationary pressures in the global economy.

Investors rushed to buy oil futures contracts as far forward as
December 2016, pushing their prices as high as $139.50 a barrel, up
more than $9.50 on the day. The spot price hit a record $129.60 a
barrel.

Veteran traders said they had never seen such a jump and said
investors were increasingly betting that oil production would soon
peak because of geopolitical and geological constraints.

Neil McMahon, of Sanford Bernstein, said: “Peak oil views – regardless
of whether right or wrong – are seeping into the market and supporting
high prices.”

Ex IMF employee Jonathan May tells the secrets of the world bankers from prison

TESTIMONY OF JONATHAN MAY

http://www.vinesbranch.com/view/?pageID=60862

Jonathan May formerly worked for the International Monetary Fund in
England. In the early 1980s he came to America with a plan to release
Americans from debt to the banking system by employing the same
"credit creating" system used by international banking. The law
governing this system is the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC). May was
initially successful. Eventually, however, he was targeted and
imprisoned by the banking system. He is now in a Federal prison in the
midwest. While in prison he was interviewed by Lindsey Williams via
phone. The following is the text of that interview.

"There are thirteen families which effectively control the central
banks of the hard currency countries of the world. The hard currency
countries are those whose currency is not allowed to fluctuate as much
as the other countries' currency fluctuates. These thirteen families
have the control of the policy-making and decision-making of the
central banks of
those countries. They all practice fractional reserve banking.

Oil crosses $129 for first time, heads for $130

http://biz.yahoo.com/ap/080520/oil_prices.html?.v=8

NEW YORK (AP) -- Oil prices spiked to a new trading high Tuesday,
sweeping toward $130 a barrel as supply concerns intensified the
momentum buying that has lifted crude deeper into record territory.

The June contract for light, sweet crude traded as high as $129.58 on
the New York Mercantile Exchange before settling back to $129.12, up
$2.07. The imminent expiration of the June contract created additional
volatility in the market, and raised the very real possibility that
crude could hit $130 before the end of the day, when the contract was
ending.

Oil's trek toward $130 coincided with the Labor Department's report of
an unexpectedly sharp rise in wholesale inflation last month. The
combination raised fears that inflation will slice into Americans'
discretionary spending, and that sent stocks falling sharply on Wall
Street.

  light sticks

I've notice some survival kits contain chemical light sticks. Anyone
research these and determine if some are more efficient or cost
effective than others? I can see how some of these in a BOB might be
very handy in a pinch if your flashlight is not working.

Man arrested over Nairac killing
A 57-year-old man has been arrested by police investigating the murder of
British Army Captain Robert Nairac 31 years ago.

Captain Nairac, an SAS-trained officer, was abducted by the IRA in
Jonesborough County Armagh, on 14 May, 1977.

The 28-year-old was taken across the border and shot. His body has never
been found. Six people were convicted for their part in the killing.

Police said the suspect was being questioned at Antrim police station.

Captain Nairac was abducted when he visited a pub at Drumintee, south
Armagh. He had been in the pub singing songs.

He was seized during a struggle in the pub's car park and taken across the
border to a field at Ravensdale, County Louth, where he was interrogated for
over an hour and then shot dead.

Five of those convicted were from Northern Ireland and one from the
Republic.

But police believe three other members of the gang were involved.

It is understood two of them are now living in the United States.
