  Time between filing and interview?

Author: Programbo
Date: Jul 20, 2008 15:09

Hello all...Does anyone know the approximate time period that
usually takes place between the time one files all the forms for
Naturalization (Form N 400) and the interview date?...My wife has been
in the US long enough and meets all the requirements but may still be
a bit shaky on her English...But if it`s going to take a year or
something she`ll be ready by then so I might as well file now and get
the ball rolling..Thanks in advance

  Questions about priority dates ...

Author: Mariano Bote
Date: Jul 20, 2008 12:11

I140 & I485 filed concurrently. The I140 approval notice received and had
these dates:
>>Receipt Date: March 01, 2008
>>Priority Date: November 01, 2007

Is the I485's priority date the same as the above? Could it really be
earlier than the receipt date (or is the above PD a typo)?

If the I485 processing times move by 1 day everyday and the current
processing time is August 1, 2007, does this mean that a decision would be
made on the I485 in the next 3 to 4 months (since August 2007 is 4 months
away from November 2007)?

Thanks for your help.

  Questions about AC21 ...

Author: Mariano Bote
Date: Jul 20, 2008 12:04

1. If the I485's receipt date is March 1, 2008, when will the above person
be eligible for AC21 protection (in case he wants to change jobs)?

2: AC21 requires that the new job is similar to what's specified in LC. If
the new job is a superset of the duties described in LC, will it still be
eligible for AC21?

3. If AC21 was used to continue an I485 without the new employer ever filing
a new LC and I140, is there any chance that the new employer could receive
an RFE? Also, if the I485 was subsequently approved, will there be a problem
later on when the person applies for US citizenship and he switched jobs as
soon as his I485 was pending for 180 days?

I appreciate your help with the above questions. Thank you.

  Questions about H1B Transfer

Author: Mariano Bote
Date: Jul 20, 2008 11:47

What are the requirements of an H1B transfer?

Would it be costly and time consuming for the employer to sponsor someone
for an H1B transfer?

How fast is the processing time? When can the employee start working for the
new employer?

Thanks for your help.
