This is notice of message that you can find under the above title on
"alt.politics.immigration"
Please go there, Now and absorb the message, try to make the telephone
calls requested, even if you never phoned the US Capitol. before.
These Phone-Ins have been very successful in deflecting several
immigration bills in 2007 and 2006.
The switchboard may be Very Busy today, so hang in there. The post on
API is self-explanatory,

I want to marry and impregnate Australian girls in Australia.
http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Australian-marry-preg/
My goal to live in Australia permanently -- this includes obtaining
citizenship and having children. I made the decision to migrate in 1992.
I have a University degree (1997-2003, due to a change from an Engineering /
Physics degree path to other degree type). I am currently self employed.
I am not a Kiwi -- but a Canadian living in the US (so technically I am not
against marrying and / or knocking up Canadian girls but this possibility
has not yet arisen).
As such -- I cannot take advantage of the Trans-Tazman Free Trade Agreement
(FTA) that effectively aids in migration for Kiwis to Australia. One hundred
twenty Kiwis migrate to Australia each day, according to the NZ government's
Net Migration stats.
THAT SAID: I don't have any Australian relatives. Lack of relatives however
can be fixed...

Hi there,
I am a permanent resident in the USA and I know I have to pay taxes on
any money I make even if I make the money outside of the US (like
accruing interest on a savings account). I have 3 questions:
1) What about financial gifts I receive from my family from time to
time. Do I have to pay tax on those?
2) What about foreign money I am not making but have owned for a long
time (for instance I have had a savings account in Europe since I was
a child and now I want to transfer some of that money into the US)
3) If both instances are taxable, is there any circumstance under
which money coming into the US would not be taxable (perhaps at the
time of immigrating to the US?)
Thank you very much for your advice

Hi there,
If a permanent resident leaves the US, goes to Australia and then
comes back with $150000 he made in Australia he must pay income tax on
that money I believe. But what about my situation?: I have lived in
the US for years as a permanent resident, then left the country for
good, made money in Australia and now, 2 years later, I am moving back
to the states. I had to literally file all immigration papers again
(like I had to do a long time ago). So will I have to pay taxes on the
money I am bringing from Australia? One could argue that I was not a
permanent US resident (since you can only leave 6 months at a time as
permanent resident unless you file papers) when I made the money and
therefore don't need to pay taxes but one could also say that I do
have a social security number and...

Hi,
I (Indian) and my fiancee (British) are planning to get married in few
months. We need few clarifications regarding this.
If anyone can answer my questions I will be very thankful.
a) How long will it take to obtain a settlement visa?
b) If I get the visa, will I be able to travel to other
countries(Ireland, France, Italy, etc.) before marriage?
Thanks a lot in advance
- TriYog
