I've read plenty of reviews on newegg, and one thing I have noticed is
a lot of people throwing in a "Newegg ROCKS" or "Newegg is great" into
their review. I like Newegg too, but think it's strange that people
would put such irrelevant comments into their product reviews. What's
up with that?

HERE IS MY STORY.
I have placed my telephone number on the DNC list over a month ago.
It does work most of the time!
A whole class of telemarketers have stopped calling me. I only get an
occasional telemarketer, usually trying to sell a warranty on my car,
which is 20 years old. Duh!
HERE IS THE RUB.
By virtue of the DNC list, I seem to have moved over to a different
class of pest boasting that they are not telemarketers. Unlike the
telemarketer calls, where you press ONE to talk to a rep, these new
calls have a human immediately asking you questions. No automated
message.
Here is a sample of what they are:

Greetings!
Sorry for posting this here, but I wasn't sure whether there was a
more appropriate newsgroup. I did look in a few that had "technology"
and/or "tech" in it, but the ones I checked either had no activity or
mostly if not all SPAM-like activity.
I know this is a widely read newsgroup, and so if my subject is good
enough, perhaps someone will read it and know a present day equivalent.
I purchased a "sound wedge" from Home Automation Systems in 1996.
This device hooks up to stereo speakers. I have my "main" TV (in the
family room), as well as the CD player and other things which play over
speakers scattered throughout my house.
I had this house built and moved in in September of 1994. At some
point, I think I had a telephone call while in my office. The
"interesting thing" was, the CD I had playing was still playing, and I had
to place the caller in hold while I ran into the family room to either
silence/stop or lower the volume of the CD.
So, I started looking for some device which would lower the volume of
stereo speakers if the telephone rang. And, I found such a device, the
"sound wedge" purchased in June of 1996 from Home Automation Systems.

That's not as disturbing as the fact that I've posted negative reviews of products on newegg, and the reviews never showed up on newegg's web site. -Dave

What's the deal with Black & Decker garden products? I bought my B&D
electric lawn mower from Home Depot in 2002. A year later they stop selling
B&D mowers there along with the blades. After several disappointing results
getting the blades sharpened by professionals here in town, I set out to
buy new blades.
Lowes was selling the blades last year but now they are gone also. So what
happened with B&D and Home Depot and Lowes? How come those stores no longer
sell the mowers or blades? Are B&D garden products to be avoided now? If I
have to buy a new mower because I can't get a blade, it sure won't be
another Black & Decker.
Is there a particular blade design that's easier to sharpen? I tried two
places in town and they just couldn't get the twist of the B&D blade
sharpened correctly. And one place so badly unbalanced the blade that it
was just trashed.

Sorry for the cross-posting, but just in case anyone trying to conceive
reads this, I want to put it out.
In my personal experience it is weight loss that helps to conceive, but not
absolute weight. Just the act of losing weight while trying to conceive
seems to up the odds of success even if you are still overweight.
