I may post this over on alt.home.repair, but I'm hoping the collective
wisdom will chime in over here instead!
We need to resurface our driveway. It directly abuts the neighbor's
driveway. Both driveways slope toward our foundation. As I'm sure
you can imagine, the water infiltration is substantial, and I'm sick
of it. Furthermore, the neighbors don't have a gutter on their roof,
so all the rainwater from THEIR roof runs right off onto both
driveways and into our foundation.
They are being dickheads, plain and simple, in two ways: they refuse
to participate in this project (they say they'll do their half next
year, and this is after we have already put off doing this project
from last fall when they pled poverty back then), and they are asking
us to make sure our new driveway doesn't direct water toward their
house, which I find to be richly ironic given their absent gutter lo
these recent years.

Loan prepayment penalty angers borrowers
By Jim Wasserman - jwasserman sacbee.com

When Carol Wallace sold her Sun City Roseville home two years ago, she
got an expensive reminder from her lender.
She owed $5,964. Why? She had paid off her adjustable-rate mortgage
early.
The lender offered to waive it, Wallace said, if she'd buy another
house with one of their loans. But here was the point: She had cancer
and didn't intend to buy again. She had to pay up.
Two years later, still ill, Wallace still fumes.
"It's written in my paperwork when I die to remind my kids," she said.
"It says if there's a class action lawsuit, to remember me, to get my
$6,000."

One of the things that AmerLink & In The Woods does is educate the
customer. It’s unfortunate that a lot of companies do not make the
effort to do this, no matter what the product or service offered. And
for anyone just diving into their research of building their own log
home, it can be a very intimidating and confusing process simply
because not all log home manufacturers are the same. That is why we
are offering a 1-day seminar for our customers who are planning to
build the log home of their dreams in the next 12 months. On Saturday,
September 20th In The Woods will host a very informative crash course
at our HQs in Rocky Mount, NC.
Customer Educational Seminar
Saturday, Sept. 20th, 9 am – 5 pm
For more info, please call Renee Warren directly 800/974-2597 or email

We live on a heavily wooded lot with lots of oak trees, which provide an
abundance of leaves in the fall and masses of spent flowers in the spring,
which clog up the slats in the current gutter guards we have now, which are
of the plastic snap in variety. And inside the gutters a lot of gunk builds
up, which sometimes blocks them (although this may be due to the pitch of
the gutters, causing some standing water).
So we're thinking of new gutters. Two options:
6" gutters and no guards, just clean them out often.
5" gutters and the metal guards that ride up under teh shingles and are
non-removalble. The salesman said if they ever cloged they would come out
and clean them.
Any thoughts?
Thanks.

I was looking for cheap gas in my area when I cam across this site:
www.ocentgas.com I got the free info and it is about how my local bank
will give me and my family up to $1000 for free gas every year. Saw
the info video and website and this is solid. Can't find anything
negative about it, so has anyone else used this?

EARN A FORTUNE IN LESS THAN 30 DAYS WITH VIRTUALLY NO INVESTMENT.
This is a home based opportunity to make substantial money with a
$6.00 investment: as seen on Oprah, A Current Affair and Today
Tonight.
THIS REALLY CAN MAKE YOU EASY MONEY. IT WORKS, BUT YOU HAVE TO FOLLOW
THE LETTER FOR IT TO WORK. THIS IS NOT A PYRAMID SCAM!!
For a simple investment of 15-30 minutes and just $6.00, it is 100%%
worth it to make thousands so quickly. This is not another scam that
takes lots of your hard earned money; this is a no risk investment
that will make you thousands of dollars
I figured "what have I got to lose except $6.00, right?" So I invested
the measly $6.00. Well GUESS WHAT? Within days, I started getting
money coming into my PayPal account! I was shocked.
