Can Quick text be used in 2007 Word like the 2003 version?

Author: sasha

I am more familar with the 2003 version and am only learning to use the 2007
version. There was something called quick text on the 2003 version when if i
typed in a word it would be avaliable in later documents, at the moment this
would be handy to have again as i am doing a lot of repetitive words.

Thanks for the help

Is there any way to set a chunk of selected text as locked or
protected in an otherwise editable document?

By far one of the most arrogant and un-helpful, and ill informed replies I
have ever seen on a corporate feedback site. At least the Adobe folks sound
like they give a crap if and when they're unsure of an answer. If you're an
MVP, I find the label dubious since there isn't a single reference to master
document(s) in the Help feature as others in this post have indicated. Thanks
to the woman from Switzerland!

2003: field in text box not saved as expected in web page

Author: David Harris

I have a diagram with textboxes linked by connectors. The text boxes contain
hyperlinked references to bookmarks in the main text of the document. E.g.
something like this {Ref bookmark1 /h/*mergeformat}

Everything works fine in document format - even in web layout view. However,
when I save the document as a web page the text boxes containing the field
references appear to contain something like this:

Text from bookmark1108D0C9EA79F9BACE118C8200AA004B=
A90B02000000080000000B000=
000510045005600500072006F0063006500730073000000

and they certainly don't work as hyperlinks.

What I am doing wrong?

  Opening Documents Has Become Inefficient

Author: Mark2006
Date: Jul 8, 2008 17:01

I am using Word XP with Vista Business 32 bit on a dell lat. d630 laptop.

O.K., I have upgraded to Vista Business from XP Home. It has taken quite
some time to get all the drivers etc. However, it is done and I am
reasonably happy. One problem, opening documents in word has become
inefficient. I used to be able to press ctrl + O and then type the name of
the document (assuming I was in the right folder) and then press enter once
or twice and it would open. Now, I press ctrl + O, type the name, press
enter, it is then listed, then I have to mouse up to the document in the list
and double click. I am sure there is a setting that needs to be changed.
Any ideas?

Thanks!

  turn off automatic numbering?

Author: Jauchart

I am taking notes on my reading, using hanging indents. When I RETURN/ENTER
to the next paragraph to enter the next page number, Word automatically
enters the next number in the sequence (i.e. 2 after 3). But often I skip a
page or more, and want the next page to be 4 or 5. How do I turn off
automatic numbering?
Thanks

Mirror margins not working on landscape pages

Author: Amy
Date: Jul 8, 2008 16:16

I'm using Word 2003. Most of my document is in portrait layout, with mirror
margins to allow for binding. The margins are set as: top 2cm, bottom 2.5cm,
inside 4cm, outside 3cm, gutter 0cm.

I have a few sections in landscape layout, and I want the margins to
continue as if they were portrait layout (so that in these sections, the
margins are left 2.5cm, right 2cm, inside 4cm and outside 3cm). In the page
setup dialog box, these are the default settings, which is fine. However, the
mirror margin settings don't appear to be applied to the document. Every page
in the landscape section looks like a right-hand page - the margin at the top
of the landscape page is wider than the margin at the bottom. I want this to
be the case only for odd-numbered (right-hand) pages, and the even-numbered
pages should have a wider inside (bottom) margin. In the portrait layout
sections, the mirror margins work fine.

What do I need to change so that mirror margins work properly on the
landscape sections of the document?

Thanks,
Amy
