Hi guys this sounds a bit practical but do you know
where can i get a free cd vcd burner software? Like the nero burning
software even if its older version as long as it will work for vcd so that i
can play it to my dvd player? Thanks.

I have just created a Windows Movie Maker slideshow on one computer that does
not have a DVD burne

You would need to change your operating system as it's built into it. It's
best just to ignore it.

First of all can you import .avi file in movie maker? I am trying to split a
file in to two sections because of size. I opened movie maker. Went to
import video. I can go to file I want and it says importing file but then it
just seems to staythere. The size of file is 2 gb. I left it alone for few
hrs and still says importing. Can some one tell me If I am doing this right?

OK, this is wierd, I just posted a question 2 days ago about not being able
to import avi files into Movie Maker, which was helpfully answered by John
Inzer, and now the posts are gone! I needed to websites you suggested for
finding a codec?

Problem:
In Movie Maker 2.1 editing clips (i.e. the length) is very slow and it takes
seconds till the vertical blue line moves with the mouse when cutting. This
is not in the beginning of a movie project, it happens regulary in the end of
a project.

In a class room we use 10 Windows XP SP2-Workstations. In each movie there
are about 10-20 AVI-clips + 2 mp3 songs included + title + a few effects. All
this is located on a file server. Video mostly as AVI, file size about 10-150
mb. It s a LAN-network with 100mb.

I can think of 2 reasons:
1.
The network is to slow. All student want to use the same clips. Often the
project file is saved on the file server as well. For the preview window and
for the thumbnails in the time line all the data has to come through the
network from the file server. At the start of the project there is simply
less data, because less clips are included in each movie so far.
