What type of files are you using? Movie Maker works best with .wmv and .avi
files. If you're using mpegs, try converting them and re-import them.

Okay so I reinstalled SP2 and it seemed to be working, i got in all of my
clips just fine, it wouldnt freeze when i was browsing through the folders so
i thought it was perfection. So then when i tried to make a new movie i
would get the music in there fine, the first clip in there fine, but whenever
i tried to put in a second clip it would freeze up, what now?

When I import a video file, in this case .WMV, into Windows Movie Maker,
generate all the clips, and then attempt to play back any of the clips except
the first clip, I find that the clip play window will hang for about 20
seconds and then only play the audio of that clip. Only the initial picture
of the clip appears in the clip playback window -- no moving pictures.
I have Windows XP SP2 installed, and have installed Windows Media Player 11
today. Still did not fix the problem.
What could be causing this failure ?
Also, is it possible to download the current version of Windows Movie Maker
separately from Windows XP SP2 upgrade, so that just that WMM item can be
reinstalled ?

Each time I start movie make I recive a message saying that Windows Movie
Make has encountered a problem and needs to close, I have options of
Debugging, or Send error report, I tried debugging, but I still recive the
same message. The error signature: AppName: moviemk.exe
ModVer: 6.5.2600.2180
AppVer: 2.0.2212.0 ModName: qedit.dll

Is there any way to resolve this error?

Question-
I have WMM 5.1 and Powerpoint 2003-both with SP2. When I import a saved
movie file from WMM to Powerpoint it does not play back. I've saved it as
.WMV (no playback) and .AVI (black screen with sound, no video).
Any ideas on how I can get the movie to playback in Powerpoint? Both file
types (.WMV and .AVI) play fine in Windows Media Player.
Thanks!

John,
Thanks for the input and patience on this one. I've been struggling with it
for a while.
Let's say I just want to make a PS3 movie out of my 7MP still pictures, and
as you said, place it into my DVD Authoring software for burning. Forget WMM
for now. What setting would you use for the best final quality when placed in
a DVD player for viewing on your TV. I have tried saving it in "Profile for
computers - 4 (1024x768)" but the loss is quality is pretty noticeable. And
yes I always save them and view them in Windows Media Player to see the
quality.
When would I use the "SlideShow-1024x768WMV9" profile in WMM?

Okay, Ive been using Windows Movie Maker for a long time on my old computer
and then i bought a new one, with SP2 preinstalled and all that jazz.
Anyways, when i try to make a movie (i love amking music videos) it will
just freeze up. Even when i just click on one of my folders in the
collections thing it can crash. Then sometimes i will get a little progress
(like i will be able to put a clip on the timeline) and then it will freeze
again. I've deleted it, reinstalled it, deleted it, reinstalled it, deleted
it, use Microsoft Update to see if it offers an installation and nothing,
still wont work.
Please Help!
Oh P.S Version is 2.0.3312.0
