MM Stalls when playing or editing movie files

Author: Imageman
Date: Dec 26, 2008 08:18

Vista 64bit / 8GB RAM / MovieMaker v6.0.6000.16386

I like to use MM because it's small and pretty easy to use. However,
when I try to move ahead on a timeline it stalls, and most often doesn't
come back. It doesn't seem to matter what the source file is.

I also have Premier Elements, but I find it big and very slow - Thanks
for your help, IM

  shrinking mp3 files

Author: General
Date: Dec 26, 2008 07:25

I am posting this question here because I use my MP3 files a lot with my
movies (after converting them). The problem is I made the mistake of ripping
my music to MP3 format with a 192 kbs bit rate. Now I am running out of
storage. Does anybody know how to convert a 192 kbs file to a 128 kbs file?
I googled it and founs lots of "freeware" but I do not trust most of it. I
was hoping Windows Media Player or iTunes could do it. Any suggestions?

  can't save movie file

Author: Dobbo
Date: Dec 24, 2008 09:24

okay I made a movie about 12 minutes in length, the files havn't been moved,
there is plenty of RAM, the save file destination is fine and i've already
made two movies before this one which save fine, but I get this error when I
click save movie file;

Windows movie maker cannot save the movie to the specified location. Verify
that the original source files used in your movie are still available, that
the saving location is still available, and that there is enough free disk
space available, and then try again

  Cannot open previously saved project

Author: Pete
Date: Sep 22, 2008 19:02

I have now created two projects, but having closed Windows Movie Maker and
re-opened it, I cannot open either of them. I get the pop-up message
"Windows Movie Maker has encountered a problem and needs to close". Please
help - one of them was a 48-minute movie and took me all day to edit
together. Thanks!

One LAst Question About Audio Pop

Author: James SB
Date: Sep 22, 2008 18:03

John-When I used Wojo's process of Burning the video as High Quality NTSC/PAL
and then dragging it into the audio file for the final burn into avi I edited
the last clip before I burned into High Quality NTSC/PAL. That was where the
pop is this time. My question-Should I Burn High Quality first, then drag
into audio file for the final avi burn and edit it there. Would that
eliminate the pop? Thanks for all your help

narration time line in movie maker

I am only able to record about 20 seconds of narration to my video. Its like
it stops and starts recording again without pressing any buttons. I am using
a USB microphone and not sure if this has anything to do with it???
