Re: age of empires II direct tcp/ip connection problem

Hi senolgunes,

Sounds like there's a firewall in your Router or Broadband Modem:

Call the tech support for that unit, and ask them to either setup a "DMZ"
(De-Militarized Zone which means the firewall is disabled) to bypass the
built-in firewall, or open the necessary ports in the equipment with you.

Here's the List of all Ports used by Zone
and DX Games: http://mvps.org/nibblesnbits/PortRoute.html#ports

To setup your router yourself visit: www.portforward.com/routers.htm

I keep receiving the following error message...This application has failed
to start because d3dx9_30.dll was not found. Re-installing the application
may fix the problem.

I have tried to reinstall the game three times, same error message. Am I
missing software from MSFT to load the game successfully?

Thank you!

Computer crash causes system to run slower

Author: plm3d

My computer crashed yesterday after I tried to open up another program before
another program finished closing. I think it rewrote my bios or somehow
changed by startup instructions because now windows xp takes considerably
longer to start and there's a noticeable slowdown on nearly every program
especially games. What did windows xp change?

I am not sure if I should download the game 2 moons. I have not heard of it
being safe or not safe to download. My question is has anyone heard of this
game being safe or unsafe.

Turning off an adware blocker to play diablo 2?

Author: Josh

Hey everyone,
I decided to grab my Diablo 2 cd off the shelf after a couple of years and
install it on my new computer. Unfortunately, When I try to run it the
cinematics don't start. On the Blizzard web page it says the problem is most
likely due to ad blocking software on my computer. I know I have ad blocking,
but I don't know how to find it and temporarily disable it. I checked with
Symantec, and it's not from my version of Norton Antivirus. Where should I
look, and how can I disable it?

Hi Jimmy i did everything u said and when i try to download from the disc
this is what comes up.....Encore autorun has encountered a problem and has
to close...Encore i guess is who puts out the disc's butthe offical name is
Hoyle....is their anything i can do about this auto run thing?.....i
searched and i seem to have auto run but it was in a lot of different
places......the main thing it says is Encore autorun has encoured a problem
and has to close that is as far as i can get....any help would be
appreciated....:)......Patsy

Hi Patsy,
Let's try some basic troubleshooting. If the problem still persists
please post back and we'll try some more steps. Good luck! :-)

1. To see if it's a software conflict: Temporarily disable Startup
programs one at a time, starting with Firewall, Antivirus, and ad
blockers using this utility: http://www.mlin.net/StartupCPL.shtml
or this method: http://www.pacs-portal.co.uk/startup_content.php

You can lookup what a program does before you disable it here:
http://www.sysinfo.org/startuplist.php

Author: Gogless

Hi,

I can't use my joystick under Windows XP x64 edition. In Device Manager
appears an Unsupported Standard Game Port. What is the cause and how can I
solve it? (I installed all the motherboard drivers and the joystick doesn't
need any because works fine on Windows XP Pro x32 SP2

Thank you

I am really insecure about downloading games. I want to play a couple of
games online, but they have to be downloaded, and installed in my computer. I
am wandering if there is any potential harm, that can be done to my computer.
If there is potential harm, is there any thing I can do to get rid of them.
Or do you guys have any other ways to do things.
