What is "unmountable_boot_volume"?

I am using Windows XP Home edition. Can anyone help me on this matter,
because my laptop (2 years old) displayed a blue screen and it will not start
Windows operating system. The error message show up at the end of the blue
screen are as follows:

STOP: 0x000000ED (0x85F75C30, 0xC000009C, 0x00000000, 0x00000000)

I am worry I might lost all my data in the laptop. Hope to hear from some
kind peoples and solutions soon. Thks in advance.

This forum is for XP Embedded, which is a different animal from regular
XP (Home or Pro). Try asking this in a regular XP forum.

Do you have the Windows XP home disc if so boot up the system with the disc.
After the disc select the r it will ask which OS to you want to connect too.
select 1 It might ask for the admin password. the use this command chkdsk
/r/f
This will check the disc if this fails reloaded with the disc and use this
command fixboot it will write a new boot sec. If this fails it could be your
hard drive failing you can download some software to test hardware issue.
