done... working good!

Ok I done, I really don't want an enviroment where I only have to make my
application working but I need a system with certain characteristic...
but finally I was able to build a working configuration... now I would like
to custom it, modify it to fit my needs and make something that don't work,
working...
I Have to ask something:

1) I have problem with the cd-rom drive: when I put a disk on it, the disk
speed up but when I try to open or to explore the content, windows return
this message: "windows can not read from this disk. The disk might be
corupted or it could be using a format that is not compatible with
windows"... ideas? components to add?
2)control Panel: I can't find the section "system" that is very important
for me... which components I might add for having it?
3)Task manager: pressing ctrl+alt+canc I can view the "windows security" but
if I choose the task manager, it doesn't appear and windows return me to
desktop. how to fix it ( I need task manager!)
4)general problem with desktop: when I do things like right click on desktop
and choose properties, or "new folder" nothing happens, and everytime I have
the desktop with nothing on it only the taskbar ...also if I do drag and drop
from another folder to desktop, nothing happens... ideas?
