Actually, IGEL is right in this case. And its even getting more worse,
if you try to change the directory names in Target Designer. So I
leave "Documents and Settings", and don't change it to "Dokumente und
Einstellungen". Also, if you change "Program Files" to "Programme",
you will probably find both folders. That is the reason, why I leave
it in original language and just add the language pack - so at least
the basic interface is german. Also you won't find german component
names in device manager. You will allways find "Ports" instead of
"Anschlüsse". Believe me, I tried to make several language versions of
my image (even russian), and I tried to make them as real as XP Pro
Multilanguage. No way. Don't even try to change start menu folders to
italian or french in one image. You will get crazy... There are quite
a lot more language pack issues (with IE and stuff), so you better
don't know...
With the language packs itself, it is very complicated, since they
don't have the same contet as the XP Multilanguage-Version. Actually,
it is hard to get the right language pack components from MS
distributors (embedded channel). If you have purchased first version
of XP embedded or SP1-Version, you will not have any access to them.
Since all websites, for downloading them don't work anymore. Then you
actually need them for XPE SP1 and the update to SP2. You won't find
them in MSDN nor in ECE. They are just available for users who
purchased XPE with SP2 from MS (on their CDs). So actually, it can
happen, that you may have the language pack for SP1, but not that for
SP2. So all things changed in SP2 are complete english. And also I
remember a TIER1 language update wich has come with FP2007 besides
severel .net MUI-Stuff.
But I think this will change as soon, as WES comes out. Actually, WES
don't seem to be different than XPE, but at least you will have all
complete language packs.
But I don't think it will change the "denglisch" issue...

Steffi
