Hello to all -
Im running Windows XP Pro. My laptop suddenly stopped running my screen
savers. I receive an error message that says "CANNOT FIND MACROMEDIA
FLASH". I have gone to the Adobe website to download and install the latest
version of Flash but to no avail. What am I doing wrong? How can I get my
screensavers to run again? Any advice will be appreciated. Thank you in
advance.

Hello!
I'm trying to find a way to change the Time Format and Short Date format
from what is default. In example I want yyyy-MM-dd.
Is there someone who can help me, or give me a hint, how I can do this in
Target Designer ?
Regards
Amund

I would like to remove the UPnP User Interface from my XPe image.
Under XP Pro, this would be done by opening the Add/Remove Programs
control panel applet and clicking on the Add/Remove Windows Components
button, which brings up the Windows Components Wizard in a new window.
From there, I would select Networking Services, click on the Details
button, and then UPnP User Interface could be unchecked (and then the
wizard can be followed through to completion).
In XPe, the Add/Remove Windows Components button does not function by
design. Is there another way to disable or remove UPnP User Interface
either in the run time image or from the build side (Target Designer)?
I would like to keep Universal Plug and Play, but just want to remove
UPnP User Interface.

Receiving this error when importing a custom SLD into the Database Manager:
Error: Cannot import SLD file The process cannot access the file because it
is being used by another process.
This error occurs after my repositories have been added. All other Windows
Embedded tools are closed. I still receive this error after restarting.
Seems I can move and delete the SLD file, so I'm not sure how to find which
process is using it. I have been able to import this component in the past,
but have recently added about a couple thousand files and multiple repository
locations to a repository set.

In addition to changing the keyboard language and our application's
language, I'm looking to change the Windows GUI language with the language
bar. I only seem to be able to configure the language bar to change the
keyboard language, not the Windows GUI.
I CAN however change the Windows GUI by selecting the language from Regional
and Language Options-Languages-"Language used in menus and dialogues", which
requires a logoff.

Hi all,
I've a question regard plugging an usb mass storage device to an xpe image;
if I use minlogon with my custom shell or command shell, if I plug a USB key
after boot when I open explorer.exe I can't see it in the My computer folder,
regardless I unplug and replug it. Please note that from the CMD it is
normally viewable and accessible. If the key is plugged before booting, it's
viewable and accessible in explorer too. If I use windows logon standard and
the explorer shell, the USB key is visible and usable in explorer like usual
in WinXP pro. Please note that PnP(user mode) is present in both logon type,
minlogon and the standard. Have someone any idea ? Some components missing ?
Thanks for replies, Andrea Valori.

This is happening with some USB memory sticks and some USB video capture
devices. Any thoughts on the matter?
Get a message saying that the device is preventing hibernation.
Same memory stick in my laptop (different hw) running XP Pro hibernates and
resumes OK.
Don't want to dismount the device before hibernation because the target app.
runs from the memory stick. OS is on a small flash disk (No room for the
app.).

System at hibernation has PS2 mouse and keyboard attached.
In use (after that hibernation) the kb and mouse have been removed.
It seems that the system doesn't like that as it crashes/reboots.
Seems to run OK if you leave the kb and mouse attached.
Is this because on resume the system likes non plug and plug devices to not
change?
The solution then is to create a timer app to action the hibernation.
