I am attempting to set up Virtual PC 2007 to test XP Embedded builds on my
development computer. I was unable to find a Virtual PC newsgroup and since
everyone has been so helpeful here, I thought I may as well ask.
I'm going through Mario Biazzi's "How to Demonstrate Windows XP Embedded
using Virtual PC" tutorial. I hit a dead-end when I'm attempting to type
"NET USE Z: \\xx.xx.xx\XPe" in the virtual pc's cmd prompt. I allways
receive the following error after entering my credentials:
"System error 1789 has occured
The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain
failed."
I can ping the host machine's IP address from the Virtual PC and it receives
all the data. So it can see the host machine but for some reason I can't map
the shared drive. Any ideas?

Can a SP2 disk used to upgrade a full windows XP product be used to upgrade
an XP Embedded copy of Windows XP?
Thanks

I received a computer with Windows XP Embedded on it. Is there any way to
find out what the username and password set for the system is? I've tried
the standard Admin, admin with no luck.
Any help appreciated.
Thanks

A student of mine purchased a Compaq Deskpro P600, PIII computer from a local
business. It has Windows XP Embedded installed. All we have been able to
do is to look at the business information that the company left on the
computer.
Is there a way to eliminate these files and to make the computer function
more like a standard computer that will basically be used for a little word
processing (Notepad) and for playing some games.
Have tried to access the system by logging off while holding the left shift
key down and I get a login screen but no one seems to know the user name or
password or domain.
Any help would be appreciated. Even knowing nothing can be done would be
better than beating my head against the wall like I'm doing at this point
trying to figure this thing out.
Thanks to anyone who can help.

Hi
I posted a question which is titled "Active Desktop HTML" on "Embedded
Newsgroup" the other day.
I could receive some advices, however I couldn't solve my problem.
So, I would like to ask a question again.
Based on some advices, I created XPe image and deployed , however I couldn't
solve the error that says "Active desktop html not found".
As additional file to XPe image, I added manually "desktop.htt" file to
"Extra File" contained in TD.
I'd like to delete "Active Desktop" because the feature itself is not
required to my product under developement.
Or, if I can't delete it, I'd like to create XPeimage to prevent the error
message.
Please tell me how to solve this problem?
Regards,
nami

Hello everyone,
This is my first post on this board. I am having a boot issue that I can't
seem to find enough information about.
I am using Windows XP Embedded. During boot up the Windows XP logo appears
for a few seconds and then a blue screen stop error appears...
"CONFIG_LIST_FAILED
Check to see if any new hardware or software is properly installed….
Technical Information:
Stop: 0x00000073 (0x00000001, 0xC000017D, 0x00000004, 0xF8A40BB8)â€
If anyone has any suggestions for me it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks!

Hi,
I got this new intel baord, and it works perfectly
on windows xp embedded, except sis mirage 1(662)
graphic card driver that can't be installed. I
always receive an error installplugandplaydriverforvga()
failed at the beginning of installation.
Any solution to this?

I have a problem booting an XPE configuration using an USB disk.
I would like to create a general configuration in order to boot on several
machines and I created such configuration (I hope so).
Added all the components described in the forum as necessaries or just
suggested.
Then deployed the falies on an hard disk in order to make the FBA.
No problem, everything fully functioning.
Then copied all the content of the hard disk on my USB 2.0 disk after the
ufdprep.
During the start the system goes on for a while then crashes with a
0x0000007b error.
I tried also with another USB key, but everything crashed at the same
manner.
Anybody knows which is wrong?
Thanks
Max

I can not make remote debugging with Visual Studio 2008 on a XPe.
VS2008 is in a domain
XPe is not in a domain, but it has the same user account that VS2008
configured locally (with the command NET).
All user accounts are in the group Administrator.
When VS2008 wants to contact the debugger on XPe mode authentication,
it does not find the service. If I does not require any
authentication, I refuse debugging.
Can you tell me if it is necessary to add modules in my image or set
something?
PS: He has no FireWall

I am just beginner with XPE. Anyone has any tools or any suggestion to
packing driver, so it will not become blue-screen to FBA.
