Component-> Add Files AND Repository Source Path

Could someone tell me the difference between the two ?.

I am confused between Setting source path when I add files and setting
source path for the Repository.

When you Add files using Component -> Add Files - and set the source path
like
%%11 and %%24 . What does it mean ?. Am I telling CD where to pick up the
files are where to copy the files on the final image.

When you create a new Repository and set the source path. Am I telling TD
where to get the files ?.

Whats the difference between the two ?.

RE: Turn off mouse pointer when no mouse is plugged in

Hi There,

I am looking for help with my touch screen driver. I am trying to use the
touchscreen driver from Gunze, the zip files include inf, sys and exe files.
I followed the method described by Microsoft on how to create a custom
component. The component is getting built by target designer. The ufd.inf and
ufd.sys are included in the C:/windows directory. FBA runs fine, setupai.log
tells that the driver had been installed properly and the device did not
start for some unknown reason.

My question is should I see the Gunze driver on the Add/Remove programs list
? . If I install it manually, I see the application on the Add/Remove program
list. How come my application is not on the list ?.

Whats the normal procedure to add a third party component to XPE ?.

Thanks in advance,

SC

Touch Screen - Gunze Driver not working on xp embedded

Author: Schockal
Date: Mar 1, 2008 18:43

Hi There,

I am pretty new to Windows XP Embedded. I am trying to include a third party
touch screen driver (GUNZE TPDD). I took the INF file (ufd.inf) the one
supplied by Gunze, created a SLD file using Component Designer. I added the
new SLD to the Component Database Manager. I included the component and built
a new image. I can see that the build directory picks up both ufd.inf and
ufd.sys. I successfuly boot XPE, the FBA runs fine. The problem is the
touchscreen driver is not getting installed properly, I checked the
setupapi.log and it looks like there is no problem with the installation.

I went to Add/Remove programs on the control panel, I don't see the Gunze
TPDD as part of the programs.

I copied all the files (setup.exe, many other exe files, ufd.sys, ufd.inf to
the repository direcotry). When the target designer build completes, I can
see that Gunze component was compiled properly.

Please help.

Thanks

Embedded Development - Network Issues with Virtual PC 2007

Author: Gabriel K.

I am attempting to set up Virtual PC 2007 to test XP Embedded builds on my
development computer. I was unable to find a Virtual PC newsgroup and since
everyone has been so helpeful here, I thought I may as well ask.

I'm going through Mario Biazzi's "How to Demonstrate Windows XP Embedded
using Virtual PC" tutorial. I hit a dead-end when I'm attempting to type
"NET USE Z: \\xx.xx.xx\XPe" in the virtual pc's cmd prompt. I allways
receive the following error after entering my credentials:

"System error 1789 has occured
The trust relationship between this workstation and the primary domain
failed."

I can ping the host machine's IP address from the Virtual PC and it receives
all the data. So it can see the host machine but for some reason I can't map
the shared drive. Any ideas?

I received a computer with Windows XP Embedded on it. Is there any way to
find out what the username and password set for the system is? I've tried
the standard Admin, admin with no luck.

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

What can be done and how

A student of mine purchased a Compaq Deskpro P600, PIII computer from a local
business. It has Windows XP Embedded installed. All we have been able to
do is to look at the business information that the company left on the
computer.

Is there a way to eliminate these files and to make the computer function
more like a standard computer that will basically be used for a little word
processing (Notepad) and for playing some games.

Have tried to access the system by logging off while holding the left shift
key down and I get a login screen but no one seems to know the user name or
password or domain.

Any help would be appreciated. Even knowing nothing can be done would be
better than beating my head against the wall like I'm doing at this point
trying to figure this thing out.

Thanks to anyone who can help.

  Active Desktop HTML, Again

Author: nami

Hi

I posted a question which is titled "Active Desktop HTML" on "Embedded
Newsgroup" the other day.
I could receive some advices, however I couldn't solve my problem.
So, I would like to ask a question again.

Based on some advices, I created XPe image and deployed , however I couldn't
solve the error that says "Active desktop html not found".
As additional file to XPe image, I added manually "desktop.htt" file to
"Extra File" contained in TD.
I'd like to delete "Active Desktop" because the feature itself is not
required to my product under developement.
Or, if I can't delete it, I'd like to create XPeimage to prevent the error
message.
Please tell me how to solve this problem?

Regards,
nami

Hello everyone,

This is my first post on this board. I am having a boot issue that I can't
seem to find enough information about.
I am using Windows XP Embedded. During boot up the Windows XP logo appears
for a few seconds and then a blue screen stop error appears...

"CONFIG_LIST_FAILED
Check to see if any new hardware or software is properly installed….
Technical Information:
Stop: 0x00000073 (0x00000001, 0xC000017D, 0x00000004, 0xF8A40BB8)â€

If anyone has any suggestions for me it would be greatly appreciated.
thanks!
