I just managed to get a minimal image working on my touch screen (one
without .NET3.5 & WPF though, it's too big, will see if Windows Embedded
Standart solve the problem or we are going to drop it).
Anyway I would like to Remote Boot it now.
I have an OS image which I have resealed.
I installed Windows Server 2008 in VPC, and when I installed The RemoteBoot
app the installer says it is not in the list of supported OSes...
Now I have installed WIndows Server 2003 and when I try to install it, it
says: "The version of the Remote Boot installer will not work on PRE-RELEASE
version of .NET Server" (it's not a pre-release, it's the WS2003 Enterprise
coming from my MSDN subscription CD 1 month ago!)
So... is there anyway of testing remote boot with a server on VPC?!?!

When I click on Windows Mail, I get a screen that says "logon to
mail.infoave.net" which asks for my username and password. Whether I enter
the info or not, when I close the box I get another box that says Windows
Mail - "some errors occurred while processing the required tasks," etc. I
cannot find whatever default setting to change so that I can get rid of this
nuisance.

Hello again,
I come back with same problem: NVIDIA display drivers.
I get that error on installation. Is someone here that know the dependencies
for the installation of the package?
Sincerly,

I'm getting some strange behaviour with my latest image (I thought it
was all going too smoothly). The way we do things is get the unit
configured as we want, take a clone, run fbreseal on the clone, not
allowing it to reboot, and that disk is our master.
The pre-seal disk does everything as expected. The post-seal disk re-
enables the Windows sounds, which is something I've never had happen
before. I don't think the settings for the System Cloning Tool are any
different to any previous build, and in any case none of them seem to
relate to sounds. Remove User Settings is set to False. Can anyone
shed any light on this please?

Hi
I have an application developed in Windows NT. I want to port the same to
Windows XP Embedded.
Please let me know what are the things I need to take care while porting ?
The application developed in windows NT is using visual studio 6.0, the same
is also installed in windows XP for developement. Do I need to make any
change for the application to run in Win XP ?
Regards,
Pramod Korti

I've been thinking about this for a while and the need has arisen again.
What I'd like is feedback upon:
- Is ther an OTS solution or simple alternative
- Otherwise would there be interest in such a product (commercial potential??)
Read on:
Situation: XPE system using HORM
Issue: Writes to storage get discarded at shutdown unless the storage is
umounted prior to shutdown (and remounted at reboot).
Problem: If you are trying to save logs then they get discarded without
unmount action. A system crash would also lose the data. This is
particularly an issue when you are trying to log, say, USB activity at
startup (eg USB devices being enumerated etc).
My proposed solution: Create a plugin-able serial device with storage.
(Real serial not USB-Serial) Log app then writes serially to this and data
will survive reboots and is transferable to another system for analysis.
Is this a goer?
Cheers
