  Using FBWF instead of EWF

Author: Godzilla
Date: Dec 7, 2007 20:09

Hello,

I have been using EWF for some time, and after several months of
usage, the RAM usage is slowly but surely being eaten away, requiring
a reboot of the system for it to resume its normal operation. After
running filemon, I found the OS log system is still writing to C$
hidden files and also to C:\Windows\System32\config\*log files...

This lead me to think of using FBWF in place of EWF. Can anyone tell
me what files I should include for FBWF write through? The list below
is some I think it should be included:

iis on windows xp embedded versus iis on windows 2003

Author: Carl

Is there any difference between the iis on windows xp embedded and the
iis on windows 2003? I only need to host one website on it and there
won't be any virtual hosting. It will use the libraries from dotnet 1.1
and 2.0. Will it be able to handle the same number of users as iis can
on windows 2003? Does it have the same security in terms of denying
access that iis on windows 2003 has? The ram will be at 4 gb with a
dual core or quad core xeon woodcrest cpu. The appliance will be a
general purpose dotnet 2.0 webserver. But it will have 3 network ports
on it.

  xpepm -hibernate now causing reboot

Author: Shawn
Date: Dec 7, 2007 09:29

We had been using HORM for quite a while now, but with in the last few days
when we try to set the unit into a HORM state by using XPEPM -hibernate, it
restarts the machine. I am able to hibernate via the start menu with no
issues and no error is reported when I issue the XPEPM -hibernate command

I have EWF and HORM activated before I try to create the hibernate file.
Once in a while the machine will hibernate, but nothing seems different

Any thoughts on what could be wrong?

Thanks

Shawn

RE: Target Designer: Looking for Component containing file

You should be able to find it using filters
GO to the filter manager, create a new filter, and choose "Component
contains the following file:

apply the filter and it should give you the results

BTW bootcfg.exe is in Server Command Line Tools

  USB Removable Device Problems

Author: Martin Spence
Date: Dec 7, 2007 06:32

I have an App that is the custom shell. The app will only allow the user to
export certain file to removable media - a USB thumb drive is the intended
device. I have the right components in my build but it is internmittent in
classifying a thumbdrive as a removable device. Most recently I can plug in
one tumb drive and the app reports no remoavble media - I plug in a second
tumb drive and the second gets reported as removable media.

I'm at a loss - anyone have suggestions?

  Re: COA Sticker Placement

Hello Mike,
When we researched this a long time ago, we were told it had to be placed in
a place that could be seen from the outside of the enclosure (enclosure of
the system). They said it would be acceptable to place it on the back as
long as it could be seen without disassembly.

How accurate this is I'm not sure, but that is what we went with.
